The New York Rangers followed up their first preseason win of the year with a wild win over the New York Islanders Tuesday night. It seemed as if nothing went in favor of the Blueshirts as their divisional rivals walked all over them for most of the game.

His return allowed the Rangers a huge sigh of relief. Chytil missed all but 10 regular-season games last season with a suspected concussion after a hit by Carolina Hurricanes forward Jesper Fast on Nov. 2. Chytil returned six months later in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Hurricanes.

Rangers forward Artemi Panarin and defenceman Ryan Lindgren both exited Tuesday’s game early after they sustained a lower-body and upper-body injury respectively.
