MALIBU, Calif. - A preliminary 3.6 magnitude earthquake hit the Malibu area early Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Data from the USGS indicates the quake occurred at 4:22 a.m. about 7 miles north of Malibu with a depth of about 7 miles.

An earthquake centered in the Malibu area with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 rattled parts of Southern California early Thursday.

Three other earthquakes jolted Malibu on Monday morning. Two 1.4 magnitude earthquakes occurred an hour apart around 3 a.m. and a 3.6 magnitude earthquake occurred at 4:24 a.m. no damage has been reported thus far.
