Now with a speaker and microphone, the Garmin Fenix 8 is pretty similar to the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, but only one wearable is worth buying.

Samsung usually doesn't change as much year to year with its smartwatches, but add an extra 12 months, and the Galaxy Watch 7 feels like a bigger departure from the Galaxy Watch 5. This is partly due to hardware changes and how Wear OS and Samsung's One UI function when better components are inside.

As of Sept. 19, you can get the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra for $599.98. That's $50.01 off its regular price of $649.99 and a discount of 8%. This price applies to the Silver, Titanium Grey, and Titanium Silver colorways, but the other options are currently sold out.

Variants and dimensions aside, the Watch Series 10 continues to have rounded edges that blend into the frame, while the Galaxy Watch 7 has a flat-glass display. On the Apple Watch, you get a Digital Crown and a side button, whereas the Galaxy Watch offers two side buttons.

Since the Galaxy Watch 7 comes in two sizes, you can theoretically take advantage of the larger 44mm to get past 24 hours on a regular basis. Samsung's smartwatches have never been known for their battery prowess, so the Watch Ultra lasts longer simply because it has the same screen and internal components, only with a bigger battery.
