  1. Always avoid high beams in fog. High beams, or “brights,” cause light to reflect off the road in normal conditions, and during foggy weather, the light can actually reflect off the water droplets in the fog. This may cause glare that can block your view of the road and harm other drivers’ vision even more severely.
